A man was shot and killed in north St. Louis early Thursday morning. The unidentified man was found deceased in the 5700 block of West Florissant just after 4 a.m.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said one person has died in a crash on I-70 near Bates City. That incident happened around 3:02 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-70 at mile marker 31 in Lafayette County.

Firefighters are working to extinguish an early morning fire in south St. Louis. The fire broke out in the 1400 block of South Vandeventer Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

A Colorado man was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury after traveling to Kansas City to meet an undercover FBI agent, whom he believed to be a mother with her 7-year-old daughter, for sex, according to the United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri.
