The Kansas City Police Department says a person of interest is in custody after a shooting Tuesday night. That incident happened around 9:45 p.m. in the 2800 block of East 7th Street. One person suffered serious injuries in that shooting.
One person is in custody after a Grundy County Ambulance was stolen Tuesday afternoon. The Trenton Police Department said they were called around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon after someone stole an ambulance that had been parked at Wright Memorial Hospital.

Interstate 435 westbound past State Line in Leawood was closed due to a deadly crash that killed two children. Police say two other children and two adults were taken to the hospital following Sunday's wreck, which happened just before 5 p.m.

Two men accused of robbing a Family Dollar store Saturday night in unincorporated north St. Louis County fled from police in a vehicle before getting apprehended in Moline Acres, officials said. The incident started around 8 p.m when two men entered the Family Dollar at 11125 Bellefontaine Road. Police said one of them approached the cashier with a firearm and demanded money, before both men fled the scene in a vehicle.
Police say two pedestrians have been killed in separate incidents on a two-mile stretch of Interstate 70 near Columbia in central Missouri. Columbia police says 35-year-old Jerry Martin, of Florissant, was killed Saturday when he was hit by a vehicle as he walked along the interstate. Martin was killed. Police say the vehicle fled the scene, and officials continued Saturday evening to search for the car and driver.

A third defendant has pleaded guilty to participating in a double homicide in St. Joseph. Raymond Jimenez-Bencebi Jr. pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder in the July 2016 deaths of 25-year-old Raymond Ortiz and 22-year-old Kevin Melendez in a rolling gun fight in St. Joseph.
Police are searching for the gunman in an early morning shooting in north St. Louis. It happened just after midnight at Norwood Avenue and Terry Avenue. The man who was shot there was driven to an area hospital. Police say he's in critical but stable condition.
A Jefferson County deputy was shot at near Valles Mines Thursday afternoon. Around 3:20 p.m. a deputy on his way back from training when he received a call for a suspicious person. Authorities say he encountered the suspect near Routes JJ and T when the suspect fired four shots at him. The deputy wasn't hit, but his patrol car was. Nobody was injured.
Police in Riverside are in a standoff with a man who is holding a hostage inside a hotel room at the Argosy Casino. The Riverside Police Department's Mobile Command Center is on scene of the casino, located at 777 NW Argosy Pkwy. Riverside Police Chief Chris Skinrood said police at 5:30 p.m. Thursday received a report of a disturbance at the hotel portion of the building.

The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a homicide on the city's east side. Police said officers were called to the 2600 block of Cleveland Avenue around 1:55 p.m. to investigate a 'Nature Unknown' call. When officers arrived, a body was located inside a home in the area.
Kansas City Power and Light crews worked overnight to repair a wire dangling from a power pole. Police say around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday a driver crashed into the power pole near 27th and Van Brunt but then took off.
The Raytown Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured at 3-year-old child Tuesday afternoon. Police said that incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Detectives were first called after a child showed up with a gunshot wound at a local hospital. Detectives determined the incident happened in the 6300 block of Ash Street in Raytown.
Police are investigating a homicide Tuesday after a man died from injuries sustained at a home in Independence, police say. Independence Police spokesman John Syme said officers were called at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 800 block of South Huttig Avenue for a reported aggravated assault.

Two people are recovering in the hospital Monday after an early morning crash. It happened near 27th Street and Southwest Trafficway around 2 a.m. The northbound and southbound lanes of Southwest Trafficway near 27th Street were closed for about an hour and a half.
A reported bomb threat prompted an evacuation Saturday of Walmart in Raytown. Police said the threat was called in to the story on East Highway 350. As a precaution, Walmart evacuated customers and workers so police could search the building.
